ATLANTA, February 20, 2020 – Afterburner, Inc., announces its CEO Joel “Thor” Neeb will speak at the United States Air Force Academy’s National Character & Leadership Symposium (NCLS) February 20-21. The annual NCLS is the Academy’s flagship event on character and leadership, bringing together distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives, and world-class athletes.

This two-day symposium provides an opportunity for all Academy personnel, visiting university students and faculty, and community members to experience dynamic speakers and take part in discussions to enhance their own understanding of the importance of sound moral character and good leadership.

First held in 1993, the NCLS now attracts more than 6,000 attendees. The theme for 2020 is “Valuing Human Conditions, Cultures and Societies.” Each speaker will tailor their talks to emphasize cultural awareness and fostering successful interactions through knowing oneself, knowing others and constructive engagement.

The NCLS is held every February and is one of the premier national symposia on character and leadership. By reinforcing Air Force Core Values of service, integrity and excellence, the NCLS contributes to the Academy’s role as a unique and valuable character and leadership resource for both the Air Force and the nation.

Neeb holds a BA from the USAF Academy and is a former F-15 mission commander. He was the tactical leader of 300 of the most senior combat pilots in the Air Force and oversaw the execution of a $150M/year flight program. Neeb was named the Top Instructor Pilot at the Air Force Flight Training Headquarters in 2010. In 2012, he was selected out of 62,000 people to receive the Air Education and Training Command (AECT) National Public Service Award.
